Kiehl's Lip Balm #1 Review

The Kiehl's lip balm #1 is some pretty amazing stuff. I received it last week at the Handpicked Media Social which was an amazing beauty/fashion/lifestyle blogger event. If you wan't to know more about it check out pyaribeauty's blog post about it.

When I tried it for first time I was completely underwhelmed. It felt like Vaseline in a tube. Ever since then though, I've given it a fair shot and I've completely changed my mind! It's amazing! It's absolutely amazing! I get horrible chapped lips if I don't take care of them and I didn't think that anything other than my beloved Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream could keep them in check until I met this baby!

What I love about this is that it stays put on your lips and really sinks in unlike other lip balms that just rub off after a little while. I use this pretty liberally, just like it says on the tube so I'm not really sure how long mines will last especially because it's pretty tiny (15ml for £10) compared to my 8 hour cream which lasted me a whole year (50ml for £25).

I also used this for my cuticles but sadly it didn't do anything for them but that's okay I guess because it really doesn't make any claims to do such a thing. Hence, my 8 hour cream still has a special place in my heart because it's such a muli-tasker (read my review about it here). In the lip category though, this balm gets top marks! Whenever I neglect my lip balm my lips get very chapped ( I did that last week when I had a horrible cold) and this has by far been the fastest product to sort them out completely and resurrect them from the horrible land of flakiness.

The only negative about this is the packaging. I don't like how there's no built in applicator  and it's just a standard tube. The first time I applied it straight from the bullet it kind of hurt but with practice I've figured out how to be a bit less heavy handed with the application and not hurt myself. It would've been nice if it had a slanted edge or something of the sort to make application easier so I wouldn't have to think twice before using it from the bullet or have to use my fingers to apply it!

Overall, I really love this lip balm and it's my new favourite! Earlier today I had a really bad case of chapped lips after scrubbing off a horrible lip stain. Soon after I applied the Kiehl's lip balm all the flaky bits on my lips had disappeared! I will definitely be repurchasing this once it's run out!

  7. I tried the Vanilla flavoured one but the texture was a little different and it wasn't as effective. Also I agree, I prefer the packaging of Carmex for example as its easy and less messy to apply but overall, this is a good product!

    Lovely blog :) xxx
